PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a clear color picture by converting an indistinct three- primary color picture into a brightness signal of black-and-white response and chrominance signals of opposite color response in accordance with a color sense model and applying contrast correction or hue correction to the converted signals. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 converts an RGB color picture read out by a color image scanner 6 into a black-and-white response brightness signal A and opposite color response chrominance signals T, D in accordance with a goose color sense model and sets up these converted signals A, T, D in a color sense memory 12. Contrast correction or hue correction is applied to the ATD picture by referring to a contrast correction table 13 and a hue correction table 14 and the ATD picture is reversely converted to the RGB picture and the RGB picture is outputted. |
