<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically construct a menu including a title name to be offered to a user and also to automatically reconstruct a menu when the disks are replaced by generating a menu screen based on the information on a table that is previously produced. SOLUTION: When a disk 104 is stored in a disk store means 150 by a system manager, the means 150 sends the store position information to a controller 113. The controller 113 decides a store position for the information on a menu information store table based on the received store position information. Then, the controller 113 judges whether the disk 104 is stored in the means 105 from a disk reproduction means 106 or not. When a new disk 104 is stored in the means 105, the serial number of the disk is extracted by the means 106. A title collation means 110 refers to a title name data base 109, i.e., a cross- reference table of the extracted serial number, a title name character code and a serial number. Thus, the means 110 acquires a title name character string code and stores it in a character string code.</p> |
