PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient direct river purifying device having a relatively compact structure. SOLUTION: The direct river purifying device 10 is arranged across a river water channel RV and is constructed by continuously arranging a 1st packed bed 20 having a floating granular solid 19 and a 2nd packed bed having a hollow cylindrical filter medium 25 successively in the downstream direction and providing an air diffusing means 21 below the 1st packed bed 20 and is capable of efficiently purifying the river with the relatively compact structure directly in the river site.
