PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of a false gap signal by forming a diffusion preventing film of Fe-Cr contg. a specified % of Cr in a specified thickness at the interface between a core substrate of an oxide magnetic material and a magnetic metal alloy film of an Fe-base microcrystalline material. SOLUTION: A diffusion preventing film 15 having a compsn. represented by Fea -Crb [where each of (a) and (b) shows at.%] is formed at the interface between each of core substrates 14A, 14B of an Mn-Zn ferrite material and a magnetic metal alloy film 16 of FeTaN. The compsn. of the film 15 is composed of 13<=b<=70at.% Cr and the balance Fe and the thickness is regulated to 50-400Å. A gap regulating film 20 of SiO and a reaction preventing film 21 of Cr are further disposed to form core halves 12, 13. A winding window 19 and a working gap 17 are formed between the halves 12, 13 and the halves 12, 13 are butted and integrated with molten glass 18 to obtain the objective combined magnetic head 1. The generation of a false gap signal can be suppressed and the waviness of reproduction output at 7MHz is regulated to about <=1dB.
