PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode and reproduce an original image while its picture quality deterioration is suppressed as much as possible by minimizing the influence of a transmission error and complementing the image data at the error part even if a microblock has the transmission error. SOLUTION: This image communicating method encodes an animation frame in divided block units by an information source encoder 1, puts a plurality of blocks together in a microblock by a variable-length encoder 2, and transmits it from a communication control part 5 to a transmission line 6. On the transmission side, a transmission code part 4 adds an error detection code to the microblock and sends it, and on a reception side, a transmission decoding part 8 detects a transmission error on the basis of the error detection code. Then a microblock wherein a transmission error is detected is replaced with a microblock which is found from the correlativity with normally transmitted image data and can be decoded and then decoded by a variable-length decoder 10 and an information source decoder 11. |
