PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a thermal working of negative electrodes of an element by providing a laser protecting layer composed of a thin film with heat resistance on a laser working part between a luminescence function layer and a positive electrode. SOLUTION: A transparent positive electrode 2 is patterned on a glass substrate 1. After picture element regions 8 are removed by photoetching, postbaking is performed and a laser protection layer 3 having insulating performance and heat resistance is formed. Secondarily, a luminescent layer 4, on which organic materials are laminated into a plurality of layers, and a negative material are vacuum evaporated on the positive electrode 2 and the layer 3 at a prescribed thickness by a resistance heating method. Then, a prescribed intensity of a laser beam is applied from the top of the laser working part and the layer 4 and the material 5 of laser working parts are evaporated and removed so that the negative electrode 6 are obtained. Even if the output of the laser beam in working the negative electrodes 2 is large, the positive electrode 2 is thus protected by the layer 3 so as to have no damage by heat and the shape of the negative electrodes can be easily and freely worked.
