PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize rotation of an impeller of a centrifugal blood pump used for a pump-oxygenator to continuously run the pump for a long time, to reduce hemolysis, and to reduce abrasion of the impeller bearing. SOLUTION: This centrifugal blood pump consists of an impeller 1, a casing 2 with an inlet 24 and an outlet 25, in which the impeller is stored rotatably, a magnetic driving device 3 and a magnetic sucking force adjustment means 4 installed outside the casing 2. The impeller 1 is in a rotationally symmetrical shape such as a cone, and has wings 13 with a pump function on the side, and a magnetic device 14 such as a permanent magnet on the bottom. The magnetic driving device 3 which rotates the impeller 1 jointly with the magnetic device 14 consists of a magnet assembly 31 magnetically connected with the magnetic device 14, and a rotation driving device 32 which is to rotate the magnetic assembly 31. The magnetic attraction forth adjustment means 4 is to adjust the magnetic attraction force between the magnetic device 14 and the magnet assembly 31 by adjusting the distance between them, or adjusting the exciting current if the magnet assembly 31 is made of electromagnets.
