PURPOSE: To prevent oblique jaggy by taking pattern matching based on data the same as block-processed data so as to expand interpolate high resolution data. CONSTITUTION: When interpolation data are unable to be generated in the case of reading 0-th and 1st line area data, a signal OUT-CTR of a timing generator 11 is set negative and a noted data value A is outputted to each line as data A-OUT. In the case of reading 2nd line area data, 0-th line area data are stored in a FIFO 1 and 1st line area data are latched by a FIFO 2, and a 3×3 block processing circuit 4 extracts block data and applies interpolation processing to the data. Thus, the generator 11 generates a positive signal OUT-CTR at this point of time, 0th to 3rd line output patterns read from a pattern RAM 6 are switched sequentially by a line SYNC of a signal OUT-SEL to select the position of the pattern and a selector 10 is controlled based on the selection and the data of interest or the interpolation data are interpolated to obtain a pattern output A-OUT.
