<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability on application to the living body by controlling the free moisture content of a heat generating material composition enclosed in an air-permeable container. SOLUTION: A metal powder in an amount of 100 pts.wt. is blended with 1-15 pts.wt. metal chloride, 15-100 pts.wt. water, 0.05-15 pts.wt. water absorbent whose water absorbency reversibly changes depending on temperature rise or fall due to a heat generating reaction, and if necessary, a heat generating aid in an amount of 1-20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. iron powder, 0.1-5 pts.wt. pH adjustor, and 1-10 pts.wt. water-retentive agent or 0.5-5 pts.wt. surfactant to give a heat generating material composition 2. This composition 2 is enclosed in an air-permeable container, bag or sheet-form bag 3 having a moisture permeability of 50-5,000g/m<2> .24hr to give a heat generating article 1. The free moisture content of the composition 2 is altered so that the heat generating reaction is slowed down when the temperature realized by heat generation rises above a prescribed temperature while the reaction is accelerated when the temperature realized by heat generation drops below a prescribed temperature.</p> |
