ARTIFICIAL BEARING ELEMENT AND ITS PREPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element of an artificial bearing consisting of bearing materials made of an elastomeric polyurethane and a method of making the same. SOLUTION: This element has a backing 1 to support a bearing liner 2 with a bearing surface 3. The backing 1 is made of a 'hard' polymeric material with the minimum hardness of 65N/mm<2> . On the other hand, the bearing liner 2 is made of a 'soft' elastomeric polyurethane material with the hardness of 3.0-9.0N/mm<2> .
