PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the power consumption in a sound source by controlling a basic clock according to inputted performance information. SOLUTION: The lowest frequency of the basic clock required for completing the processing of definite contents within one section is selected from the whole operation amounts required for musical sound signal generation processing, effect processing and event processing, etc., and the length of one section, and the data of the value corresponding to the frequency are written in a clock control register 6. Thus, the basic clocks of respective blocks such as a CPU 1, are set in the lowest frequency. Then, by executing the musical sound generation processing for the data reserved as the subject of the performance, the musical sounds of 128 samples in this section are generated. An effect is imparted by executing the effect processing for the musical sound generated in such a manner. Since the effect processing is executed at the basic clock of the set frequency, too, the frequency is set low in the section small in whole operation amounts. |
