PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a repulsive force of a hit ball and to lighten and enlarge the head by making the head thinner while maintaining mechanical strength of the head. SOLUTION: In this golf club head made of a metal, a neck part 14 to which a shift 13 is attached is formed on one end of the head body and the head body has a hollow therein. The head includes a face member 2 having a face 11a integrally formed with the neck part 14 and a hollow member 3 in which an end 3a is welded to the periphery 2a of the face member 2 so as to form a hollow. At least the face member 2 is forged at a constant temperature.
