A method comprising the steps of transmitting a wave towards an object to be inspected (1); reading signals from points on the object on a first array (10) of transducers (111-11n); writing the read signals into a memory (14) at a writing rate fo; reading out the signals stored in the memory (14) at a readout rate fi while subjecting them to a time reversal; retransmitting the signals read out of the memory (14) to at least one image medium (18) using a second array (16) of transducers (161-16n); and sensing the retransmitted signals in the image medium (18) using a third array (20) of transducers (201-20n) at a set distance from said second transducer array (16). The writing rate fo and/or the readout rate fi varies so that images of said points on the object are always formed on said third array. |
