PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely print the characters at a designated position and to improve the reproducibility of the print result even when a setting position shift is caused between a form that is shown for designation of the character input positions and a form that is used for print-out of the characters. SOLUTION: The image of a form is read by a reader 7 and stored in a main image memory 8 before the characters are printed on the form at a desired position. Then the image of the form is shown at a display part 3 and at the same time, the input positions are designated for the desired characters. These input positions are stored in a correction value storage part 12, and also the image is read out of the form that is presently set based on the designated input positions and then stored in a subsidiary image memory 11. Then a, correction value calculation processing part 10 compares a block image stored in the memory 8 and including the input parts of characters, for example characters, with a block image that is segmented out of the memory 11. The area segmented from the image 11 is continuously shifted until the coincidence is obtained between both block images, and the character printing positions are corrected based on the shift direction and the shift amound which are confirmed when the coincidence is obtained between both block images. Thus the desired characters can be printed. |
