PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatial optical modulator for a 3D display device capable of unifying the color of composite color picture elements over the observation distance in a wide range. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal spatial optical modulator is provided with the row and the column of the picture elements 24 to 26. For example, the row consists of the respective parallax generating elements of an automatic stereoscopic 3D display, which are arranged as a row group. By arranging the picture elements 24 to 26 as a set, the color picture element is formed so that the respective sets of the picture elements 24 to 26 may be arranged at the apex of a polygon such as a triangle 21, and arranged in the corresponding column out of the sets of the columns. |
