<p>PURPOSE: To measure comfortableness provided by massage objectively, quantitatively and easily by using, as an indication, sedation in activity of sympathetic nerve or promotion in activity of parasympathetic nerve. CONSTITUTION: Temperature on the surface of human body changes according to the level of massage, i.e., desirable or undesirable massage. Namely, desirable massage raises the temp. even at a part where direct massage is not applied while undesirable massage does not generate such a phenomenon. By utilizing the phenomenon, change in the temp. on the body surface is observed through the thermography. The temp. rises in the parts where the massage is given and not given is measured, and thereby whether temp. rise is generated on the not-given part or not is detected. Desirable massage raises the temp. of the not-massaged part obviously and thus comfortableness is measured and detected through the temp. rise on the body surface.</p> |
