PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the change of contrast, and secular deterioration of a driving margin. SOLUTION: A driving margin can be kept and a flickering phenomenon is reducing a signal applied on an information electrode group composed of a selection pulse 12 having a pulse widthΔT, a first auxiliary pulse 11 having a polarity opposite to that of the selection pulse 12 and the same pulse width as that before the selection pulse 12, a secondary auxiliary pulse 13 having a polarity opposite to that of the selection pulse 12 and one third pulse width ofΔT after the selection pulse 12, and a third auxiliary pulse 10 having the same polarity as the selection pulse 12 and one third pulse width ofΔT before the first auxiliary pulse 11. Also, deterioration of a driving margin is reduced by constituting a scanning signal applied on the above scanning electrode group of a first correction pulse consisting of a wiring pulse and an eliminating pulse before the writing pulse, having a polarity opposite to that of the eliminating pulse before the writing pulse, and a second correction pulse having a polarity opposite to that of the writing pulse after the above mentioned writing pulse.
