PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reduce the labor and cost of the work over the entire part when an optical network is built, to reduce the size and shape over the entire part of respective branching boxes, to eliminate the restriction on the installation place of a branching box as far as possible and to easily constitute a water infiltration detecting sensor. SOLUTION: The remaining parts exclusive of the respective optical fibers (e) constituting optical fiber cables F for a trunk are all cut in so that prescribed extra lengths are assured for the optical fibers (e) in the branching position in mid-way of the optical fiber cables F in this method for branching and connecting the optical fiber cables. Further, only the optical fibers (e) of the number necessary for branching among the respective non-cut optical fibers (e) are cut and thereafter, the optical fiber cables (f) for branching are connected to the cut optical fibers (e). |
