PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain inexpensive serial data transmission by software processing without using exclusive hardware. SOLUTION: A serial data transmitter is provided with an input interface 10 for entering a pulse with prescribed time length based upon the edge of each bit in received serial data SR inputted from a bus 1 and generating entry data LR, a receiving means 2 for generating receiving data R in response to the supply of the data LR and supplying the data R to an internal bus 5, an input interface 20 entering a pulse with prescribed time length based upon the edge of each bit in transmitting data T and generating entry data LT, and a transmitting means 3 for generating transmitting serial data ST in response to the supply of the data LT and transmitting the data ST to the bus 1.
