PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a welding process for electrically connecting tub terminals by laser welding the tub terminal of either pole to the edge of an opening in a battery can and to a battery lid at the sealed part of the battery. SOLUTION: A negative tab terminal 3 is spot welded to a negative terminal 4. After an electrolyte is injected into a battery can 2, a positive tab terminal 1 is extended in a straight line along the inner surface of the battery can 2 up to the edge of an opening in the battery can 2, and a battery lid 9 is fitted to the edge of the opening in the battery can 2 in such a way that the positive tab terminal 1 is sandwiched between the edge of the opening in the battery can 2 and the battery lid 9, By means of welding performed by application of a laser beam to or near the junction 12 of the battery can 2 and the battery lid 9, the battery is sealed and the positive tab terminal 1 is electrically connected to the battery can 2 and the battery lid 9. |
