PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small automatic document conveying device capable of conveying multiple documents continuously and also using a second document loading stand as a document discharge part by improving the feeding method of documents. SOLUTION: First and second document trays 2 and 3 are arranged in series along the sheet feeding direction of a document, and a control unit controls a document sheet device, based on the detected information from first document set sensors 18 and 19 so that first and second arms 9 and 10 are moved to an interconnecting position and a back fence 13 is moved to the rear end part of the first document tray 2 when the document is absent on the first document tray 2 and a document is put on the second document tray 3. Also the second document tray 3 is moved in the vertical direction between the document loading position and document discharge position or rotated around a rear end part as supporting point.
