POWER TRANSMISSION AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit or utilize the power produced from a prime mover with high efficiency and to turn the drive shaft at higher r.p.m. than that of the crankshaft of prime mover. SOLUTION: A clutch motor 30 comprises an outer rotor 32 coupled with a crank shaft 56 and an inner rotor 34 coupled with a drive shaft 22. An assist motor 40 has a rotor 42 coupled with the drive shaft 22. These motors 30, 40 are controlled by a controller 80. A control CPU 90 controls a first drive circuit 91 to cause powering operation of the clutch motor 30 thus rotating the drive shaft 22 at higher r.p.m. than the crank shaft 56. The control CPU 90 controls a second drive circuit 92 to cause regenerative operation of the assist motor 40 and feed the regenerated power to the clutch motor 30 thus supplementing power consumption.
