PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the lighting device for an electrodeless discharge lamp, which can be made small in size, can reduce stresses applied to circuit elements, can enhance a circuit efficiency, and can stably light the electrodeless discharge lamp. SOLUTION: The voltage of an AC power supply Vac is rectified and smoothed out by a rectifier DB and an electrolytic capacitor Co so as to be formed into DC voltage E through a switch SW, and voltage thus obtained is converted into AC high frequency electric power by a self excited half bridge type inverter circuit INV1 so as to be fed to the electrodeless discharge lamp La through a resonance circuit 3, a capacitor C4 , a resistor R4 and a coil 4. And the output terminal Tb of a lighting unit U1 is divided into an output terminal Tb1 provided for one end of the primary coil n1 of a transformer T1 , and an output terminal Tb2 provided for grounding, and the lighting unit U1 is connected to a lamp unit U2 by connecting an output terminal Ta to a cable terminal Ka, and also connecting the output terminals Tb1 and Tb2 to a cable terminal Kb. |
