PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate fine cursor move such as the fine adjustment of a cursor by detecting the rotating direction and rotating amount of an operational spherical body and converting those detected signals into signals for the moving direction and moving amount of cursor. SOLUTION: When an operator rotates an operational spherical body 9 placed on a piston-shaped member 11 so as to be freely rolled in the first state of having a gap between the head part of the piston-shaped member 11 of a spherical body supporting member 8 and the spherical supporting plane of a cylinder- shaped member 10, a rotation detector (such as a rotating amount detection shaft 26, roller 20 and rotary encoder 101) detects the rotating direction and rotating amount of this operational spherical body 9. Then, the signals detected by this rotation detector is converted into the moving direction and moving amount of cursor through a switching means. Thus, the cursor can be moved just for the distance proportional to the rotating amount of the operational spherical body 9, and fine cursor move such as the fine adjustment of cursor position can be easily performed. |
