PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a step difference on a pinion gear housing hole, and ensure the strength of a case while suppressing the increase of the whole length of a device. SOLUTION: In a differential device provided with a case 1 having a C part which is rotary driven by an engine, a pair of side gears 15, 17, pinion gears 31, 33 having a first gear parts 31a, 33a, and second gear parts 31b, 33b, and housing holes 27a, 27b, 29a, 29b for housing respective pinion gears 31, 33, the housing holes 27b, 29b for housing the second gear parts 31b, 33b are formed on a cover 7, the second gear parts 31b, 33b are arranged on the C part side of the case 1, and also the C part position is off set arranged in an axial direction.
