<p>The sound insulation panel consists of a layer (2) of synthetic material. The layer presents, on its upper face, a smooth or ridged surface. The layer has, on the adjacent lower face, a honeycomb cellular structure (4). The honeycomb structure is formed by an assembly of compartments (3), which define the cells. A series of plates (5) of relatively heavy, dense material are arranged and retained in the bottom of each of the honeycomb cells. Several layers of plates can be built up to present different characteristics. The different layers may be of different materials and with or without spacings between the layers of plates.</p> |
