The modular refrigerated cabinet has each module regulable to a different temperature. The cooling is provided from a single source of cold air which is housed in the bottom module (E0) of a stack of modules. This module is held at a temperature below that of all the other modules. The cold air is directed to the other modules through ducts (29). To cool an enclosure Ei to a temperature Ti cold air is taken from the module which has the nearest temperature lower than Ti. This air is directed through the module and emerges to atmosphere (38).
