PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a reactive power compensator by detecting the stationary component of load current contained in a compensation current command value outputted form a first compensation circuit by a second compensation circuit and subtracting it from the compensation current command value. SOLUTION: In a first compensation circuit 6, active power is obtained from the system voltages and load currents of respective three phases, and compensation current command values iRC, iSC and iTC of three phases are obtained from the active power by subtracting balanced active current components in the load currents from the load currents. Next, in second compensation circuits 14R, 14S and 14T, stationary basic wave active current components iRCP, iSCP and iTCP and stationary basic wave reactive components iRCQ, iSCQ and iTCQ contained in the compensation current command values iRC, iSC and iTC outputted from the first compensation circuit 6 are detected, those stationary basic wave active current components and stationary basic wave reactive components are substracted from the compensated current command values iRC, iSC and iTC, and only the fluctuating components of load currents are outputted as compensated current command values i'RC, i'SC and i'TC. |
