PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a black level efficiently with high quality by generating a signal representing a black component from input image data and generating a signal representing the black component from a signal subjected to color correction. SOLUTION: The color correction section 1.120 is made up of a color correction means 21, a 1st uniform signal detection means 2, a 2nd uniform signal detection means 6, an ununiform signal generating means 7, a uniform generating means 8, a 1st selection means 9, and a 2nd selection means 10, and the color correction means 21 is made up of a luminance to gray level conversion means 1, a black level generating means 3, a masking means 4, and a gray level to luminance conversion means 5. Then a signal representing a black component is generated from input image data consisting of signals representing plural color components and color correction is applied to signals representing plural color components and black components and the signal representing the plural color components subject to color correction is outputted from the color correction means 21 and the signal representing the black component is generated from the signal subject to color correction. |
