<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow rate control system for Francis turbine in which the flow rate of turbine runner can be regulated over a wide area without sacrifice of turbine efficiency while facilitating the assembling and adjusting works and the turbine can be operated even in a flow-in type hydraulic power generation system during a dry season. SOLUTION: A turbine generator 10 employs a wound-rotor induction generator motor wherein the rotor is coupled with a turbine runner 3 having such characteristics as the flow rate varies with the r.p.m. over a wide range without sacrifice of turbine efficiency so that variable speed operation is carried out through a variable speed controller 11. A function generator 12 previously inputted with a turbine characteristic data receives an output signal from a water level detector 14 and an upstream flow rate command signal 13 and delivers an optimal rotational speed command to the variable speed controller 11 thus controlling the flow rate.</p> |
