PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and make thin a package of an optical pickup used for an optical disk device. SOLUTION: This pickup is provided with a light source 1, a light guide member 5 having plural slopes inclined in the incident direction of light emitted from the light source 1 and having prescribed optical elements formed on the slopes, a light receiving means 13 converting the light passing through the light guide member 5 to an electric signal and a housing member housing the light source 1, the light guide member 5 and the light receiving means 13 and having a light transmission part and consisting of a cooling body 4 and a cap 22. Then, the outgoing direction of the light from the light source 1 is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the housing member. |
