PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of the cleaning failures of an image forming device and to obtain the images of high quality by stopping the mechanical operations of an image forming part while the images are processed and therefore reducing the quantity of toner that is supplied for cleaning according to the mechanical operations. SOLUTION: A control part stops the operations of the drive sources of a photosensitive drum 16, the 1st and 2nd developing devices 23 and 26, a transcription device 17, an image carrier body cleaning device 19, etc., and then stops the mechanical operations of a copying machine body while the image signals are processed at an image processing part in a copy mode or a print mode. As a result, it is possible to reduce the useless friction of the copying machine body and to reduce the quantity of toner that is supplied to the cleaning part which cleans the surface of a transfer belt 17a of an endless transcription carrier means 17 according to the mechanical operations. Furthermore, it is possible to prevent the toner from passing through a cleaning blade 17g and to eliminate the soil of a recording medium that is caused by the cleaning failures. |
