PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method for the amount of powder lump which is capable of performing the measuring work automatically and speedily and obtaining exact weighing values with small dispersion. SOLUTION: Water is put in a mixer and a specific amount of powder 12 for measuring lump is supplied and stirred for a specific time. Light is cast through an optical sensor in the stirred solution 13 to measure the reflection factor. A process to judge the amount of powder lump from the comparison with the measured line prepared in advance between light reflection factor and lump production rate is included in the method.
