PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good servo characteristics by setting a static friction coefficient of a movable part consisting of a slide bearing and a guide member to be not larger than 0.25 in an optical pickup having a driving mechanism common to an accessing operation and a tracking operation. SOLUTION: A movable part 7 of the optical pickup has bearings 25, 26 formed in one body with a carriage 21 and guide rails 28, 29. The bearings 25, 26 have a clearance of approximately 5-30μm to the guide rails 28, 29 respectively. A surface of the bearing 25, 26 in touch with the guide rail 28, 29 is formed smooth with a surface roughness of about 0.3-3S. The guide rail 28, 29 is a non-magnetic stainless steel rod of SUS 304 or the like, having a surface coated with a fluoric material and ground to 0.4S or so. A coating thickness is 5-20μm.
