PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard contact lens composed of a material which has high oxygen permeability, is extremely transparent, is substantially stainless, relatively has affinity with water and is highly strong. SOLUTION: This hard contact lens has the oxygen permeability of >=100×10<-11> cc.cm/cm<2> .sec.mmHg and is obtd. by grinding and polishing a copolymer obtd. by radical copolymerization of 50 to 85 pts.wt. silicon based acrylate (methacrylate) expressed by constitutional formula I, i.e., tris(trimethyloxy)-γ-acryloxy(methacryloxy)propylsilane, 5 to 30 pts.wt. fluoroalkyl acrylate (methacrylate) expressed by constitutional formula II, 5 to 20 parts. wt. diacrylate (methacrylate) having the ethylene oxide bond expressed by constitutional formula III and 2 to 10 pts.-wt. methacrylic acid.
