The shaft of the second hand includes a pinion (2), and the hand itself is attached to the top end of this shaft. The shaft, which may be made of steel, is carried on a base plate (3) and a bridge (4). The shaft may pivot directly within the bridge (4). In the base plate (3) the shaft (1) turns in a bearing (5) made of synthetic material. The bearing includes a collar projecting from the plane of the base plate in order to stand up around the shaft. This is intended to grip the shaft and comprises a conical internal section tapering at an angle of 2 degrees. The shaft is thus retained within the bearing by a very slight elastic deformation of the collar. |
