A first part (2) of the support frame (1) has the connections for joining to the three-point connecting device (6) of a drive vehicle (7) and a second part (3) is connectable firmly with the frame (23) of the mowing machine (8). The first and second parts of the support frame in the cross-direction (9) to that of travel (10) of the mowing machine are displaceable towards one another or in one another at least at two spaced positions. A hydraulic positioning device (11) alterable as to length is fixed to both parts with both parts being adjustable in relation to one another. The second part of the support frame rigidly connectable to the frame of the mowing machine comprises a form tube, pref. with quadratic cross-section, with side surfaces directed upwards, downwards, forwards and backwards.
