The battery adaptation process involves handling groups of traction batteries fitted with a connection system. The battery group is fitted with a standard set of handling fittings, and is handled by an automatic system that displaces, positions, centres, locks and connects the battery group in the working position. The dimensions of the battery group can be altered in all three dimensions by altering the number or arrangement of batteries. The vehicles are positioned over the battery transport mechanism and the battery group loaded into place after the previous set of batteries have been removed from the vehicle.
