PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the same electron sealing effects as crystal composed of several tens of atom layers of different materials by inserting ten or less layers of an island-shaped or mesh-shaped grid composed of different materials near the center of the thin film. SOLUTION: Since the potential of a grid 2 is high in a thin film 1, when the grid 2 is buried in an island-shape, electrons are gathered in the area where there is no grid 2, the electron movement is limited both in the (x) and (y) directions in the white area and the thin film 1 operates as a quantum box. Since electron sealing varies by the width and the thickness of the grid 2 and barriers 3 and 4 form vertical electron sealing layers, the potential of the grid 2 effectively operates in the vertical direction. Since the grid composed of different materials that have attracting potential or repelling potential is arranged and buried in an island-shape or mesh shape, electrons can be sealed in the area where there is no grid or around the grid by correlation with the electron grid in the structure. |
