PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engine to be driven at the maximum allowable engine speed through a skip mannual transmission covering from the high to low speed step by providing restricting means for restricting selecting means in response to the speed of vehicle and enabling only shifting means to be operated. SOLUTION: When a vehicle runs at high speed under the condition where a shift lever 2 is positioned at 5 speed step, a present vehicle running speed is transmitted to an ECU from a vehicle speed sensor 28, and the controller compares the value with the reference value set in a ROM. If it is over the reference value, a control signal is output to an actuator 26. Then, a second selector member 14 is pulled, and while the member 14 turns in the direction shown by the arrow N1 around a selector, shaft operation of selector is made at high speed in the case of mannual shifting. The lever 2 can perform only the shifting operation from 5 to 4 speed step, and the selector operation is not carried out, whereby no skip mannual operation from 5 to 2 speed step is performed. |
