PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head supporting device capable of correctly and stably following even to the high-speed transportation of a web without imparting deformation and fault to the web. SOLUTION: This device is a recording head supporting device having a web tracing function in which a member A10 having the shaft 12 of a diameterϕ1 vertically erected at the center part of a flat plate, the member B20 of a flat plate having a slot 23 whose short side length is larger thanϕ1 a little at the center part and the member C30 of flat plate having a hole whose diameter is larger thanϕ1 a little at the center part are provided, ball member D41 having the same diameter being equal to of more than three pieces are held in between planar surfaces of flat plates A, B and planar surfaces of flat plates B, C, contactions of respective member brought into contact in the order of A, D, B, D, C are energized by a compressive spring E17 being in between A and C and then the member B is fixed to a specific position with respect to a web transporting path in which the transfer of recordings is performed and a recording head 14 and the edge guide of the web are fixed to the member A and the member A is energized to the width direction of the web by a spring 71.
