<p>The instant invention relates to a dispensing carton (10) for a roll of sheet material (40), the dispensing carton (10) having a bottom (15), front (19), rear (13) and end walls (22), a lid (17) hingedly connected to the rear wall (13) forming an elongated aperture between the lid (17) and the front wall (19) for withdrawing a sheet material (40) from a roll of sheet material positioned within the dispensing carton (10). The lid (17) comprises a first panel (12) and a second panel (18), the first panel (12) extending from said rear wall (13) to the front wall (19) with the second panel (18) overlapping the front wall (19) of the dispensing carton (10) and having a cutting means (50) with a cutting edge (52) affixed to the surface of the second panel (18), the second panel (18) having a top edge (16) and a bottom edge (36) with a hinge line (21) placed therebetween whereby said second panel (18) may be bent along the hinge line (21) to form a cutting means support panel (24) and a cutting edge protector panel (26) at the hinge line (21) adjacent the cutting means (50) having a cutting edge (52). The hinge line (21) connects a first front panel portion (24) and a second front panel portion (26) and is located behind the cutting edge (52) of the cutting means (50) whereby the second front panel portion (26) overlays the cutting edge (52) to provide a cutting edge protector means. <IMAGE></p> |
