1,127,461. Counting apparatus. VEEDER INDUSTRIES Inc. 5 Jan., 1966 [5 Jan., 1965], No. 483/66. Heading G4D. A system, e.g. for self service petrol stations, for registering one or more multiple order counts comprises means 68, 70 for driving each counter 64, 66, a register 20 corresponding to each counter and means for transferring the total in each counter 64, 66 to the corresponding register and means 72, 74 for resetting the counters. As shown one of three pumps 14 has an associated fuel meter 24 which drives visual volume and cost counters 30, 32, which drive pulse generators 60, 62. Stepping motors 68, 70 fed by the pulse generators 60, 62 index a pair of storage counters 64, 66 simultaneously with visual counters 30, 32. A register system common to the pumps and their associated counters is connected to one set of counters by depressing the corresponding one of three 91-93 switches. Reset motors 72, 74 and connecting relay 96 are energized for one revolution of discs 86, 88 to reset the counters 64, 66 by rotation of their spindles. Each of the wheels 67 of counters 64, 66, in being reset operates an associated switch 100 a number of times corresponding to the count stored, so advancing print wheels 109 in the register. The register may be at a remote position or may be near the pumps to give a printed receipt. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the storage counter is mechanically coupled to the visual cost counter.
|
