A fume cabinet A, having a vertically sliding sash B suspended on cords b passing over pulleys b', has the free ends of the cords connected to piston rods d of pistons d' reciprocating in pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders D and operated from a fluid supply line c by a hand control valve D<SP>3</SP> through flow regulators D<SP>2</SP>, pressure regulator c<SP>2</SP> and non- return valve c<SP>5</SP>. Fluid may be supplied via lines d<SP>2</SP> to either end of the cylinders to raise or lower the sash. |
