PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylene-based resin composition good in flame retardancy, heat resistance, acid resistance, blanching-preventive properties and other characteristics, remarkably excellent in mechanical characteristics compared with usual compositions, and useful for electric wire coatings, etc. SOLUTION: This flame retardant ethylene-based resin composition is obtained by blending 5-250 pts.wt. flame retardant such as Mg(OH)2 , Al(OH)3 , SbO3 , etc., to 100 pts.wt. resin component comprising 55-98wt.% substantially linear ethylene-α-olefin copolymer produced by using a single site catalyst and having 0.5-50g/10min. melt flow rate, 0.86-0.91g/cm<3> density and Mw /Mn <=3.0, and 45-2wt.% linear ethylene-based resin modified with a functional group- containing compound.
