PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure satisfactory catalytic activity and selectivity and to attain stable catalytic life in a method for producing unsatd. carboxylic acids by oxidation dehydrogenation of satd. carboxylic acids. SOLUTION: This oxidation dehydrogenation catalyst contains an iron phosphate compd. represented by the formula Fe-Pba -Mb -Pc -Od [where M is at least one kind of alkali metal, (a) is 0.0005-1.0, (b) is 0.0005-1.0, (c) is 0.8-6.0 and (d) is the amt. of oxygen combined with the other elements and corresponds to the degrees of oxidation of the elements]. Unsatd. carboxylic acids are produced using this catalyst. |
