PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability and to eliminate a grinding process by improv ing a scaling characteristic at the time of annealing and a descaling characteris tic at the time of pickling in a method for producing a heat resistant and mag netic ferritic stainless steel cold-rolled strip containing Al. SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel cold-rolled strip composed of, by wt., <=0.05% C, <=0.05% N, 10-40% Cr, 2.5-7.0% Al is annealed to produce the surface scale having <=3.0μm scale film thickness and 15-60 atomic % Al concn. in the film. Successively, the descaling is executed by pickling with mixed acid consisting of 20-160g/l HF concn., 40-200g/l HNO3 concn. and <=30g/l Fe ion concn. at 30-80 deg.C liquid temp.
