PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having a free radical- polymerizable unsaturated bond in the molecule, capable of using as a photosetting composition even if a solvent or reactive diluent is added thereto, because the resultant oligomer has low viscosity by itself and capable of attaining a nonsolvent system. SOLUTION: This compound of formula I or formula II (R is H or methyl) is preferably obtained by reacting (A) (meth)acrylic acid with (B) 2,4,4- trimethyl-1,6-hexanediol or 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,6-hexanediol in the presence of (C) an acidic catalyst (e.g. p-toluene-sulfonic acid). Furthermore, after finishing the reaction, preferably, the reactional product is neutralized and cleaned by adding an aqueous solution of an alkali and then, the product is separated and purified. |
