PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent material for a sliding contact which can realize high quality and prolonged service life. SOLUTION: At least one metal selected from Al and Si is homogeneously dispersed in an amt. of 0.01 to 0.5wt.% in a material for a sliding contact used under conditions of working voltage of 0.5 to 30V and working current of 10 to 500mA, the material comprising at least one element selected from among Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Cu, and Ni, thereby improving contact stability and realizing high quality and prolonged service life. |
