PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the interference between disks and improve the advance efficiency by making at least one cutter disk movable in the longitudinal direction against a front drum in a fold type shield machine provided with multiple cutter disks. SOLUTION: When a folding jack 5 is operated for the rolling or direction change of the whole shield machine 1, cutter disks 9A, 9B are moved in the longitudinal direction so that no interference occurs between a shield drum 3 and the cutter disks 9A, 9B. When the shield machine 1 is straightly advanced, the longitudinal interval CL1 between the cutter disks 9A, 9B is reduced to the utmost possible to improve the stability of the working face, the cutter disks 9A, 9B are overlapped into a cocoon shape or a potbelly shape, and the overbreak area is reduced to the utmost. The cutter disks 9A, 9B are inclined in opposite directions centering on a pivotal support pin 8, the shield machine 1 is turned in a spiral shape, and the direction can be changed vertically or horizontally. The advance efficiency can be improved. |
